A hereditary autosomal recessive lung disease characterized by the development of cysts at an early age, recurrent respiratory infections, and spontaneous neonatal PNEUMOTHORAX. Occurs at a higher frequency in non-Ashkenazi Jewish people in Israel and the Maori people of New Zealand. OMIM: 219600
